Fewer that 5% of microfinance borrowers in India own mobile phones, but they can still use mChek mobile payments via the Shared Phone model. In this video the Grameen Koota loan officer coaches a borrower on how to insert her personal SIM card into the Shared Phone device to do transactions. The SIM card at a cost of Rs. 100 (or ) is much more affordable than the Rs. 1500 () entry level phone.
