With mchek on their phones, they can help others pay bills and do banking. This is extra income that will help cover daily expenses or other big expenses such as Asma’s upcoming wedding.

Microfinance borrowers outside of the pilot are asking for SIM cards because they know their money will be safe when electronically accessed via mchek on their sims. Members are also demanding additional merchant and bill payment options via mchek such as utility bills and mobile recharge. Those will be introduced soon.
